Red Velvet Studios

Your Career

Are you a music artist who is ready to build a serious career and develop a professional team around your vision?

This guide is for artists who are considering signing to the Red Velvet Studios Artist Development/Management roster.

01
Traditional Management

The Industry

Most managers are looking for artists who already have a successful career, existing income, and a business that is already worth managing.

They are usually looking for artists who are already established independent artists or artists who are already signed to a record label.

If you are still building your career, that does not mean you are not talented or not ready for support. It means you may need development before traditional management makes sense.

02
What Managers Look For

Established Artists

For many traditional managers, this is an artist who has something to manage.

An established independent artist has already built a business around their music. These artists are often considered commissionable, meaning their current level of success can financially support a traditional management relationship.

This is why many managers are willing to take them on. The artist has already built a career that a manager can help organize, expand, and grow.

  • 100,000+ monthly listeners
  • Significant streaming income
  • Large engaged fan base
  • Strong social media presence
  • Touring opportunities
  • Sold-out shows
  • Merchandise revenue
  • Brand partnerships
  • Sync licensing opportunities
  • Professional team already in place
  • You've had success with independent releases in the past
03
Building Your Career

Developing Artists

Most artists are not at the established artist stage yet.

You are a developing artist (just getting stared)

A developing artist or new artist may still be building their sound, music catalog, recordings, fan base, social media presence, content strategy, live performance experience, professional team, business knowledge, and systems.

This does not mean you are not ready for professional support. It means you need a different type of support.

We work with developing artists from the beginning and help them build the foundation needed to become established independent artists.

Some artists choose to remain independent. Others may eventually pursue major record label opportunities. Our goal is not simply to help you get signed. Our goal is to help you build a career strong enough that you have options.

  • No team yet
  • No sound yet
  • No fans yet
  • No brand yet
  • No prior music industry success yet

07
CEO & COO

The Partnership

Your artist career is a business.

You are the CEO. Your identity, music, vision, and creative direction come first.

Red Velvet Studios acts as the COO, helping build the strategy, systems, opportunities, and professional team around your vision.

Artists who sign with us enter a minimum one-year management relationship.

08
How It Works

The Agreement

Before we begin working together, we schedule one in-person meeting.

During this meeting, we discuss your music, goals, current career stage, budget, expectations, and whether we are the right fit for each other.

After the meeting, you are expected to make a decision. If both sides agree to move forward, we may offer a formal management agreement.

Management commission is 20% of entertainment-related income, including streaming, music sales, merchandise, sync licensing, brand partnerships, and influencer opportunities.

Additional services like recording, production, marketing, content creation, event production, consulting, and other hands-on work may require separate fees which are paid by the artist.
