Velvt Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Red Velvet Studios handles personal information for Velvt. It covers the community website and related account services. It supplements the Red Velvet Studios store privacy policy for purchases processed through Shopify. Where the two describe different activities, this policy explains Velvt community processing and the store policy explains store processing.

Information you provide

  • Account and contact information, such as email address, name, username, phone number and sign-in information.
  • Profile and matching information, such as photos, bio, roles, skills, genres, influences, city, collaboration preferences, birth year and optional gender information.
  • Content you share, including photos, video, audio, profile songs, links, messages, group activity and connection requests.
  • Support, safety and policy information, including reports, appeals, consent records and privacy requests.
  • Billing relationships and purchase status used to recognize Pro access. Payment providers process payment details under their own applicable practices.

Information collected through use

We process technical and usage information such as IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, pages and features used, session identifiers, errors and security events. Cookies, local storage and session storage help sign-in, account security, preferences and website functionality.

When you choose device-location features, we may receive device coordinates and use them for location-based discovery or city lookup. Coordinates may be stored privately; your profile city can be public. Location precision can differ between features. You can enter a city manually and use alternatives available in the service.

Why we use information

  • Provide accounts, public profiles, discovery, matching, connections, groups, media and messaging.
  • Apply preferences, store your changes and synchronize account information.
  • Process purchases and recognize, maintain or revoke Pro access as payment status changes.
  • Deliver requested sign-in codes, invitations, account notices and notifications.
  • Provide support, investigate reports, moderate content, prevent fraud, enforce policies and meet legal obligations.
  • Understand website performance and usage and troubleshoot problems.
  • Send optional marketing messages when you have made the relevant choice or where otherwise permitted by law.

Where applicable, we rely on providing the requested service, consent, legitimate operational and safety interests, or legal obligations, depending on the activity and jurisdiction.

What is public and what is restricted

Your profile name, username, photo, bio, city, links and shared profile media can be visible publicly without sign-in. Birth year, gender and the saved account phone number are not displayed on the public profile by the current public-profile service. Do not place those details in your public bio or media if you want them to remain private.

Messages and restricted account records are not intended to be public, but authorized staff and service providers may access them for service operation, support, safety, security or legal purposes. Messages are not described as end-to-end encrypted. Participants may copy, save or share content. Public media may use publicly accessible storage links, and downloaded copies or external caches may survive later removal.

Service providers and external services

We use providers to operate Velvt. Current services include Shopify for the website, customer records and checkout; Supabase for community accounts, database and storage; Appstle for website subscription functionality; Resend for transactional email; Twilio for configured text messaging; Google for available Google sign-in; BigDataCloud for city lookup; and Propel for website session recording. The providers used for a particular interaction depend on the feature you choose. External music players and links, including Spotify, YouTube or other music services, can receive technical information when their content is loaded or you follow a link.

We disclose information to providers as needed for their functions, to recipients you choose, to enforce rights or comply with valid legal requirements, and in connection with a business transfer with appropriate protections. We do not claim that using a public link prevents other people from collecting publicly visible content.

Analytics, recordings and advertising choices

Propel session recordings and website analytics help us understand interactions and troubleshoot the website. Recordings may capture visible content, navigation and interaction details. Masking, where used, does not make all page content anonymous. The current website does not provide a separate Velvt recording-consent or recording-opt-out switch. Contact support to request information, object to processing or withdraw consent where applicable. A policy disclosure does not replace any consent that applicable law requires.

Shopify and other store features may use cookies or similar technologies for analytics or advertising as described in the store privacy policy. Uses that qualify as sale, sharing or targeted advertising under a relevant law are subject to applicable opt-out rights. Review available store privacy choices and your browser controls. We do not represent that a browser setting or deleting local storage deletes information already held on our servers.

Permissions and communications

Camera and microphone access are used for recording features you choose. You can select existing media where supported. Contacts are used to prepare invitations you initiate; selected email recipients are submitted when you choose to send invitations. Importing a contacts file does not itself send invitations. Device permission settings can be changed in your browser or operating system.

Occasional marketing texts require the separate text preference. Reply STOP to unsubscribe from supported text messages, or update the preference in Settings. Account and security messages may still be necessary to provide the service. Notification permissions and preferences can be changed using the available website and device controls. Marketing email opt-out instructions appear in those messages.

Retention and account deletion

We retain information while providing the service and as needed for security, dispute resolution, enforcement, purchases, legal obligations and handling your requests. The current Delete My Velvt Account action removes community access and releases the username but retains the old profile, messages, posts and uploads for administrator access. Those records are not automatically erased when you close the account. Current tooling prevents administrator permanent erasure during the first 48 hours after closure, including to preserve images already placed in emails. That minimum period does not mean erasure happens automatically after 48 hours.

Request permanent erasure using the Account Deletion and Data Requests page. We assess and process requests, verify identity where needed, and explain any information that must be retained and the applicable reasons. Separate purchase, tax, transaction, safety or legal records may have different retention requirements. Limited backup or security records may persist subject to applicable requirements. Signing up again creates a new community profile rather than restoring the old one.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to know or access information, correct it, obtain a portable copy, request deletion, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Contact support using the email below, describe the request and identify your Velvt account. We may request proportionate information to verify identity or an authorized agent’s authority; do not send a password or sign-in code. We respond within applicable legal timeframes and explain material limitations. You may also have rights to appeal a decision or complain to a relevant privacy authority. We do not discriminate for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Security, international processing and adults-only service

We use access controls and other safeguards, but no system is risk-free. Do not share sign-in codes, and keep independent copies of important media. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations used by our providers. Where legally required, appropriate transfer safeguards apply.

Velvt is for adults aged 18 and older. If you believe an underage person has an account or has provided personal information, report it through the service or contact support. See our Child Safety Standards.
